Gorgeous large end grain Walnut cutting board from northwestern Pennsylvania. This board features numerous 2 inch blocks glued together. Note the interesting chevron patterns in the walnut grain. It is a very large cutting board, measuring 16 1/2 X 24 X 1 1/2 inches, suitable for carving a turkey. It is heavy, but not as heavy as a similar sized board from rock maple.  End grain boards are believed to be easier on the knife.  (Knife on board was custom made by Murray Carter of Carter Cutlery. Knife Sheath was custom made by Burke Cutlery).
